I have extensive expert-witness experience. I know how an expert witness should act, what is valid testimony and what is not, what an appropriate report is under the Federal Rules of Evidence, I have testified in deposition and court many times…
In 1996 Microsoft asked me to draft a report about the playing of sounds in Web browsers, for use in defending against a patent lawsuit. Since then, over the last quarter of a century or so, I have helped in numerous legal cases, work ranging from an hour or two providing advice to extensive engagements involving reports of hundreds of pages (such as patent invalidity and non-infringement reports), depositions, and court testimony. All the while maintaining my deep involvement in all things Internet, through businesses I have begun, employment, consulting with companies large and small, authoring books, public speaking, and creating online courses.
